This is not a drill. I get to sew Kate Basti’s Tall Tales block this month. It’s a book. Seriously. I get to sew a freakin’ book. What could be more perfect for me?

Actually, I’m so excited about this book that I don’t know where to start, so I haven’t. Shh.  May’s not over yet.

What fabric do I choose for the cover? What will the book be about? Decisions!

Feather blocks.JPGWhile I’ve been deliberating about the content–I mean fabric–of the book block, I made a few versions of The Intrepid Thread’s Feather Leaf block. The block is really cute, but I made a few mistakes…two of them are upside down, and the colors are a little jarring. I’m not a huge fan of how mine turned out, but they’ll do. I’m hoping they’ll look more at home when this entire mess of a quilt is finished. Maybe I’ll put one in each of the four corners. We’ll see.
