Whoo hoo! Kisses and jars!

StarsandKisses

Star Kisses Block:

livingCLOTH is one of my favorite people on Instagram. I was so excited to see that one of February’s blocks was from her! This Stars and Kisses block was so much fun to put together. It has an endless capacity for scrappiness and color variation, evidenced by the awesome examples posted from other folks in the bee.

Quilter’s Pantry Block:

On the Windy Side created a jar block to highlight some amazing novelty fabric (for non-quilters: novelty Jarfabric is the random category. Anything from cartoon characters to scissors show up in novelty fabric. If it’s “themed” anything, it’s probably a novelty piece). There’s only one problem for someone like me: I don’t really have novelty fabric.  It’s true. I’m not a fan. So, I decided to embellish a bit. Instead of using a printed fabric, I opted to use a solid blue to represent my favorite type of jar–a blue glass one. Then, I stitched on some buttons that have been piling up in my actual quilting pantry. I chose to use the sparkly buttons in honor of our curator, Molli Sparkles…and because I will never, ever use sparkly buttons.
